What Similarweb’s Data Tells Us About the AI Market Today

Nov 19, 2025

I’ve been reviewing Similarweb’s AI Global Trends for November 2025, and the picture that emerges is quite consistent across categories. Most AI tools are losing traffic, and in some cases, the drop is dramatic. Apart from Gemini, even the biggest players are trending down.

Code completion and DevOps tools like Cursor, Lovable, and v0 are seeing large percentage drops. v0, in particular, is down around 95%. Base44 is one of the few exceptions, but it’s still early in its lifecycle, and its growth has already begun to slow.

This pattern repeats almost everywhere. Character and Chat AI, Design and Image Generation, Writing and Content Generation, Video, Voice and Music Generation, Automation and Travel all show a downward trend overall, with only a few individual tools bucking it.

Some of these curves strongly resemble the Gartner Hype Cycle. It feels like we’re moving from the Peak of Inflated Expectations into the Trough of Disillusionment. In practice, this means the hype is fading and people are no longer willing to spend money on promises. They want tools that reliably deliver value.

From my point of view this is a healthy shift. It gives us space to focus on the areas where AI truly works today and filter out the noise. Real use cases can emerge more clearly once the hype cools down.

I’d love to hear how others see this trend and whether you’re noticing the same pattern in your own work.
